The Billfish Foundation bestows Club of Excellence award to OCLTC

The Billfish Foundation will acknowledge the Ocean City Light Tackle Club in November 2018 with its Club of Excellence Award. The Ocean City Light Tackle Club and its members are very grateful for the TBF's recognition of the clubs history and dedication to billfish release fishing.
THE 71st DERBY
The participants of this year's Derby had a great time in this beautiful setting.  Even with light angler participation and last minute cancellations, it was an extremely competitive event.  Fishing started off on the first day with exciting Blue Marlin action.  Dale Creamer and John Simmonds saw 5 blue marlin with 3 bites and 2 releases.  All to Dale Creamer's side of the boat!  Matt caught a blue and a sail day one too along with Jay Depotter with a bent hook loss on a blue to complement his sailfish release.  The blue marlin action on day one was superb.  The next two days were slow fishing for this location.  Even so, there were several boats with multiple bites to keep the anglers focused.   

We congratulate Dale Creamer as our Derby Champion and Matt Barrazotto /Jay Depotter for their team win.
